COE Premiums End Mixed In Second Bidding Exercise of May 2023

Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums decrease in Categories A and B in the second bidding exercise of May 2023 (17 May).

The latest premium for Category A cars, or those 1,600cc and below with horsepower not exceeding 130bhp closed at S$92,000, a decrease of S$9,001 from the previous tender.

Premiums for large cars in Category B (above 1,600cc or 97kW) ended lower at S$113,034, a decrease of S$6,365 from the previous result.

This is the first tender since LTA’s one-time adjustment to reduce the volatility of supply in COE quota for Categories A and B.

COEs for commercial vehicles, including goods vehicles and buses, increased by S$1,912 to S$77,501.

In the motorcycle category, the premium experienced an increase of S$5,600, to S$10,602.

In the open category (Category E), which can be used for any type of vehicles but often end up being used for big cars, premiums increased by S$998, to S$125,000.
