COEs Mixed in October's Bidding Exercise, Cat B Goes Up.

This afternoon saw 4,321 successful bids out of a total of 5,712 received during the second bidding exercise of October for Certificates of Entitlement (COEs).

Quota of 2,023 @ $50,991, down from $51,507

Category A (cars 1,600cc and below, and have a maximum power of 130bhp),


Quota of 1,340 @$56,410, up from $53,001

Category B (cars above 1,600cc, and have a more than 130bhp),


Quota of 188 @ $45,589, down from $48,720

The commercial vehicle category C,


Quota of 360 @ $6,354, up from $6,353

Motorcycle category D,


Quota of 429 @ $56,340, up from $54,200

Open Catagory E,

As with the previous bidding exercise, the trend in the low number of COEs offered, are due to the trend of owners choosing to keep their cars longer.

Bids can be submitted through the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of DBS/POSB, the Internet Banking facility of UOB, or via the OCBC phone banking services.

The bid deposit for COEs in Categories A, B, C and E is $10,000 per bid while that for Category D is $200 per bid.
