Dashing through the night
While Kimi Räikkönen and Lewis Hamilton will be busy fighting for a respectable spot in the qualifying session at Spain's Circuit de Catalunya on 26th April, right here at our doorsteps we'll be featuring our local boys battling out in the MPT Sprint / Supersprint to be held at Kallang Stadium Car Park ‘F’.

Resembling September’s Formula One Singapore Race, the MPT Sprint / Supersprint will be making its appearance as a night race to simulate the actual look and feel of this spectacular event.
The night racing theme ensues for this round, having successfully been implemented in the earlier round. Things are definitely heating up this time, with a bigger pool of racers and higher levels of
competition. Members of the public will also be allowed into the paddock at allocated timings to get a glimpse of the racing vehicles.
Round one Fastest Timing (Night) 4WD Category winner, Ricky Choo, will be facing hot favourites like Lester Wong and Desmond Soh, who both had missed the last round of competition held in February.
It is still unknown if Lester Wong, who had set a record of 6.72 seconds last year will be using his prize winning race car (Mitsubishi Evolution 9) for this round. Together with Lester, Desmond Soh will be making a live demo run down the 201 meter race track with their latest collection, the Nissan Skyline GT-R R35 (also known as the Godzilla).
In the other category for the 2WD, Edgar J.D, who won the Fastest Timing Night in round one, will also be facing the likes of Tan Jian Long and Eddie Ng (2007 Fastest Timing of the Year N.A winner).
Hafiz Koh, the youngest professional race driver who is currently representing Singapore in the Formula V6 Asia, will be making a special appearance to grace the event. He will be one of the honourable judges for the Race Queen Search happening on that day.
16 contestants were already chosen to proceed to the Semi-Finals during the first qualifying round of the Race Queen Search that took place in February this year. The 2nd qualifying round this time will see another 12 contestants vying for the 8 slots available into the Semi-finals which will be held later this year in September. Following which, the finals will be in November where the 2008 MPT Race Queen will be crowned.
