F1: Mclaren may miss first test due to crash test failure

Mclaren’s MP4-29 has failed at least one of the FIA crash tests, and, depending on whether they can rectify the issue and get the chassis retested and homologated, may miss the first test at Jerez. Regulation states that all cars must pass all 13 tests to ensure they are able to sustain a heavy impact before they are allowed to race. Mclaren said that they will make sure their chassis pass the crash tests in time for the Jerez test,. That said, some are speculating that Mclaren may forgo the Jerez test and further develop the car for Bahrain.             Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
