F1: Raikkonen: Magnussen “destroyed” race

The Ferrari return has so far been a nightmare for Kimi Raikkonen. After a series of offs and crashes in Melbourne, Sepang looked pretty promising right at the start. That was up to the point where Magnussen’s MP4-29 cruised right into the right rear tyre of Raikkonen’s F14T. That led to a puncture, which meant Raikkonen had to limp back to the pits, losing almost a minute in the process. The loose thread also torn bits of the floor to shreds, losing the Kimster loads of valuable downforce. Magnussen may have incurred a 5 second stop/go penalty and 2 penalty points on his license, but those may not be enough to satisfy Raikkonen, for he believes that without the contact, he could have been battling with fourth-placed teammate Fernando Alonso. Raikkonen did mention though that it is part of racing, and will strive to achieve better results in the next race. Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
