F1: Rosberg dominates Australian Grand Prix

The Mercedes W05 has proven its competitiveness in pre-season testing, showing both pace and reliability. This translated into a comfortable victory for Nico Rosberg, who drove effortlessly lap after lap to pilot the W05 across the finish line first. Nico’s teammate, 2008 F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton, was suffering from technical problems which enabled the Red Bull of Ricciardo and Nico to leapfrog him. It was hoped that Hamilton’s issues would go away, but it was clear 3 laps in that it was terminal. The amazing traction and pace of the Mercedes meant that Rosberg was pulling away from the field consistently, even though a small safety car period disrupted his lead and allowed others to catch up. They entered as title favourites, and leave Australia as just that, as Rosberg grabs his 4th career win. Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
