F1: Susie Wolff to retire from racing

Susie Wolff announced a few days ago that she will leave professional motorsport for good. The Scot, who seemed to be in line for a future F1 drive, has been a test driver for the Williams teams for several years now. She became the first female driver to take part in a Grand Prix weekend in over 20 years when she piloted the FW36 in FP1 in Britain and Germany. She spent her early years karting, before finding her way into lower formula cars. A switch to DTM further bolstered her portfolio, even though she got limited success. A developmental role was opened once she married the then-Williams director Toto Wolff. Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
