Ferrari’s new V8 wins International Engine of the Year

Ferrari’s new 3.9 litre twin turbocharged V8 has won the overall International Engine of the Year. The Italian automaker says that they are honoured to receive a record number of awards at the ceremony, which was held at the Engine Expo 2016 in Stuttgart, this month. With 63 jurors from more than 30 countries, the International Engine of the Year Award is one of the industry’s most coveted honours. The aforementioned engine powers the 488GTB and Spider, and the California T, albeit in a slightly different trim. In fact, this engine also won the Performance Engine and New Engine categories, as well as the 3-litre to 4-litre displacement category. Ferrari’s NA 6.3 litre V12 also won awards for the above 4-litre category. This engine calls the F12 variants home.
