GER: Audi trades names with Fiat-Chrysler Group
Audi has been lusted after the FCA-owned Q2 and Q4 trademarks for a while now. The German automaker wants to use the badges on upcoming crossover SUVs, and whilst previous attempts at securing the badge have failed, the German firm has finally reached a consensus with the Italian-American Conglomerate to use the names legally. The rumour has been confirmed by Audi CEO Rupert Stadler, who said that they managed to convince FCA to release the two names which would allow Audi to own the Q1 to Q9 badges which will find their way onto their SUVs. He insisted that nothing more than the rights to the names was exchanged. FCA took the change to pry a few badges off Audi too. Even though the Italians have yet to reveal whatever badge they have so desired to snap up, it will not be surprising if they have bagged Italian names previously used on Audi’s concept cars.
