The Fiat Punto Evo will be coming in with the choice of five low emissions, Euro 5 engines, all fitted with Start&Stop as standard, the new Punto Evo comes in five different trim levels – Active, Dynamic, GP, Eleganza and Sporting.

Among the advanced engine line-up are two power units featuring Fiat’s new MultiAir technology. The full list includes: 1.4 8-valve petrol, 1.4 16-valve MultiAir petrol (105bhp and 135bhp) and 1.3 16-valve MultiJet diesel (75bhp and 95bhp).

Standard equipment in the entry-level Active model includes ABS anti-lock brakes with EBD, driver, passenger and knee airbags, radio/CD/MP3 player, power steering, electric mirrors and Blue&Me infotainment.

Dynamic trim level adds such equipment as side and window airbags, leather steering wheel and air conditioning, while Eleganza models get alloy wheels, cruise control and rear parking sensors as standard. The GP specification includes rear spoiler, dark tinted headlights and foglights.

Multijet Engine: The multijet diesel engine was developed from Fiat's Unijet diesel engine with enhancement through better control of the fuel injectors with as many as 7 injections into the cylinder each thus reducing noise and vibration of the traditional diesel engine.

MultAir Engine: The innovative twin-cylinder engine, developed by Fiat Powertrain Technologies, is the outcome of a philosophy that focused on reducing fuel consumption and, as a consequence, CO2 emissions, in respect of future Euro 5 and Euro 6 emissions standards, with the same performance as a large engine.

The concept behind this new engine is the downsizing from a conventional 4-cylinder engine to a 2-cylinder turbocharged engine that incorporates the innovative MultiAir electronic inlet valve control system. In addition to advantages in terms of consumption, the twin-cylinder engine also results in a 20% reduction in weight and 25% in volume inside the engine bay compared to a 4-cylinder engine with the same power output. Being a twin cylinder engine, Fiat adopted a crankshaft balancing system that significantly reduces vibration and noise levels.

Start&Stop: the Start&Stop system allows the vehicle to automatically switched off the engine without the driver turning the ignition key. To drive off again, the driver simply needs to press the accelerator or clutch pedal to restart the engine.

When the vehicle is at a stand still in a traffic jam or at a red light, no fuel is consumed and no CO2 is emitted. Also, noise emissions drop to zero.
