Green News: Renault-Nissan Push for EV Adoption
The Renault-Nissan Alliance has signed more than 50 agreements worldwide, as it aims to become the leader in bringing zero emission mobility.

The municipality of São Paulo and Renault-Nissan Alliance announced a unique partnership to jointly study how electric vehicles can preserve the environment in the city and also improve the life quality in the state capital.
São Paulo is the first city in South America to sign this kind of agreement. The agreement calls for the creation of a working group that will study the feasibility of this project, and will present a complete proposal to create and develop ways to make it real.
On the other side of the Atlantic ocean, Madrid City has also signed the similar agreement with the Alliance in promoting Electric Vehicle usage under the MOVELE-Madrid Plan. The partnership will develop the following aspects:
* The possibility of adding technical Alliance description that specify the main needs for validating recharging points, associated to MOVELE-Madrid Plan.
* Involving Renault Headquarters in Madrid as a test point of recharging system.
* Committing to making Madrid one of the first cities to have Renault electric vehicles for establishing a shared mobility system known as 'car sharing'.
* Promoting electric mobility through informative events.
* Searching for partners to set up recharging infrastructure in car parks.
* Identifying fleet owners interested in having zero emission vehicles for use in the city.
* Defining the different uses for the electric vehicle, apart from car sharing.
* Analysing potential financial and non-financial incentives, as well as the already available incentives, to foster the use of the electric vehicle, both for users (tax exemption, benefits in terms of parking costs, etc) and for establishments that create a network of electric vehicle recharging points.
* Involving local institutions, including local companies, in the development of zero emission mobility in Madrid.
Following the holistic vision of zero-emission mobility established by the Renault-Nissan Alliance, the groups will analyze all aspects related to the introduction of electric cars (infrastructure, resources and products) and will include other companies, governments and organizations in the discussion that can contribute to this work. Among the points to be analyzed are the implementation and the maintenance of a charging network, incentives in order to facilitate electrical cars adoption, and educational campaigns about the advantages electric vehicles bring to the city, its population and environment.
