Hamilton won't let verdict affect him

The FIA's International Court of Appeal might have ruled against him and McLaren, but Lewis Hamilton will not let that get him down.

After the stewards handed him a 25 second drive-through penalty for cutting a chicane in the Belgian Grand Prix, McLaren launched an appeal against the punishment.

However, the FIA Court ruled that McLaren's appeal was inadmissible. This is because under FIA rules, teams cannot appeal against drive-through penalties. The said punishment handed down to Hamilton was, technically, in place of a drive-through penalty.

"People will probably expect me to be depressed about today's result, but that isn't me,” said the current championship leader.

He added: "“Overtaking is difficult, and it feels great when you manage to pull off a great passing manoeuvre...So I'm disappointed, yes, but not depressed.”
