Hankook Scores Again With S1 Evo
Continuing its run of top ratings earned in comparative testing conducted by automotive enthusiast magazines in previous years, Hankook Tire achieved outstanding results in recent tire tests conducted by two leading German automobile magazines Auto Motor Und Sport and Gute Fahrt.
Hankook Tire’s premium summer UHP (Ultra-High Performance) tire Ventus S1 evo was ranked first out of 10 global tire brands by Auto Motor Und Sport (Publication date Mar.11.2010/Issue no.7). Tire testing included handling, braking, driving safety, comfort, etc. Hankook’s flagship tire performed exceptionally well in all relevant test criteria including receiving the best marks for braking in the wet and dry testing. The tests were conducted using tire size 245/45 R 17 fitted on a Mercedes Benz E-Class.
Gute Fahrt the VW and Audi specialized magazine also rated Hankook’s Ventus S1 evo as “Very Good” in its annual summer tire test. Hankook’s high-end wide-base tire earned best “braking on wet” relevant to safety and excellent directional stability on dry surfaces as well. Also, the Ventus S1 evo received excellent marks for noise, comfort, wet and dry handling and good marks in the ecologically relevant rolling resistance evaluation. Ten tire brands participated in the testing and evaluation of size 205/55 R 16 V/W fitted on a VW Golf 2.0 TDI.
