Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS), Hyundai Motor Group’s first global open innovation hub, recently marked one year of community engagement by unveiling new partnerships and programs aimed at reaching and empowering even more young people and communities, supporting sustainability, and developing future leaders in Singapore and across the ASEAN region.

Entering its second year of community initiatives, HMGICS launched new partnerships with global ocean exploration organization, OceanX, as well as the Temasek Foundation. These initiatives reinforce HMGICS’s ongoing commitment to growing alongside Singapore through education, innovation, and talent development.

HMGICS and OceanX are partnering to deliver immersive education experiences that connect Singaporean youth to the future of science, technology, and sustainability. Through a shared commitment to hands-on learning and real-world impact, the collaboration bridges ocean exploration, robotics, and sustainable mobility.

The partnership launched with a joint learning day on September 25th, where students from local secondary schools visited the OceanXplorer, one of the world’s most advanced marine research and media vessels, to explore ocean technologies and robotics in action.

The experience continued at HMGICS, with workshops focused on future mobility and engineering for a sustainable planet.

In 2026, OceanX will join the HMGICS Annual Hackathon as a challenge partner, contributing a robotics-based brief, mentorship, and participation on the judging panel. Together, HMGICS and OceanX aim to spark curiosity, encourage systems thinking, and equip the next generation to lead with science and creativity in solving global challenges.

HMGICS has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Temasek Foundation (TF) on 26th September, marking the start of a longer-term partnership to strengthen youth development.

The first initiative under this collaboration will be support for the 2025 edition of the Temasek Foundation Specialists’ Community Action and Leadership Exchange (SCALE) programme, which promotes cross-cultural understanding, leadership, and collaboration among students from Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and their Southeast Asian counterparts.

“HMGICS was founded with a human-centric mission: to redefine future mobility and create value that extends beyond the product,” said Dr. Hyun Sung Park, CEO of HMGICS. “By investing in young people and enabling real-world access to science, engineering, and sustainability, we aim to contribute to Singapore’s innovation economy and empower future generations across the region."

Beyond TF-SCALE, the collaboration will explore new initiatives, such as equipping youths with future-of-work readiness skills and providing platforms for sustainability innovations. This shared effort reflects HMGICS’s and Temasek Foundation’s commitment to develop the next generation through education, innovation and community engagement.
