Hyundai i20 WRC makes Test Debut

Hyundai i20 WRC makes Test Debut

Hyundai Motorsport has recently taken the i20 WRC out of the workshop and onto the road for testing at its Alzenau(Germany) headquarters.  The team has ramped up the schedule checking the car's systems ahead of an entry in the FIA World Rally Championship next year. There was major focus on collecting feedback on the Hyundai i20 WRC's 1.6 Liter turbocharged engine while all key areas of the car's performance were evaluated.  Over a period of three days the team was able to cover 550 kilometers which enabled them to build a knowledge base of testing data.  This data will help prepare the i20 WRC's entry in the WRC which is in eight months time.

The intensive testing programme is there to ensure that Hyundai Motorsport arrives at the Rallye Monte Carlo fully prepared for the challenge. With a short period of time, the programme will continue for the rest of the year and will involve assessing and developing the i20 WRC in all the terrains that are expected in the World Rally Championship.
