Jaguar’s Luxury Four‑Door GT Will Be Revealed This September
Jaguar engineers began reimagining the brand by driving great models of the past.

Jaguar’s engineers revisited the brand’s past before developing its next generation of models. In May 2023, they drove key models such as the XK120, E-type, XJ Coupé V12, XJS and XJ Series I to better understand the defining characteristics of a Jaguar.

These included strong performance paired with refinement and composure, as confirmed through the “Spirit of Jaguar Drive” programme. These traits, along with design elements like a long bonnet and low roofline, inform the new four-door GT.

Insights from each model shaped the development brief. The XK120 pointed to the need for a driver-focused, cocooning cabin and competitive performance. The E-type demonstrated a balance of comfort, usability and presence. The XJS highlighted long-distance capability and ease at speed, while the XJ Series I reinforced the importance of effortless power and refinement.

The new electric GT incorporates these qualities into a modern platform. It features a tri-motor setup producing over 1,000 PS and 1,300 Nm of torque, supported by intelligent torque vectoring with millisecond response times. Dynamic air suspension and active dampers are used to maintain ride comfort and stability. The car has undergone extensive real-world and virtual testing to refine its driving characteristics and develop in-house propulsion technologies.

The four-door GT will be revealed in September and will introduce Jaguar’s updated design direction, technology and driving character, forming the basis for future models.
