JBL's Team-up With Ferrari Re-lives Beatles Heritage with Journey of Sound

JBL is teaming up with Ferrari to host an amazing road expedition in the tracks of the Beatles, taking audiences on a unique Journey off Sound from Liverpool to Hamburg. The Journey of Sound travels from Liverpool, where the Beatles started out, to Hamburg, the city that hosted the band's early performances in Europe and includes two landmark concerts and memorable musical waypoints, with a visit to Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and his legendary Ferrari collection. Ferrari and HARMAN are proud to be part of the Beatles history as over 45 years ago, it was HARMAN's studio equipment that recorded the Beatles legendary Sgt Pepper album, and Ferrari ranks George Harrison and John Lennon among its famous owners.

The Journey of Sound is a fresh idea from the partnership of innovation between HARMAN and Ferrari. As Ferrari’s exclusive sound partner, JBL Professional has been equipping Ferrari sports cars since 2008, providing unique audio technology for perfect sound performance.

“The idea for the Journey of Sound arose by chance. When HARMAN sound engineers were designing the new JBL sound system for the Ferrari Four, the'FF' made them think of the Fab Four,” says Michael Mauser, President Lifestyle Division HARMAN. “We put some rich, powerful sound into the FF with a total of 15 speakers and a 1280-watt, JBL Professional Class-D high-performance amplifier, and Quantum Logic technology which transforms any stereo or multi-channel audio source into an astounding 7.1 channel surround sound experience. The Journey of Sound is an opportunity to take the superb JBL Professional audio experience out on the road.”

In addition to its landmark audio system, the Ferrari Four features also a HARMAN hard-disk-based GPS navigation system, adding to HARMAN’s great heritage as biggest infotainment supplier to Ferrari. Awarded by Ferrari as top supplier, HARMAN has delivered over 50.000 systems equipping today all Ferraris with high-end HARMAN infotainment systems as standard, which include the 458 (Italia and Spider), the F12berlinetta, the FF and the California.
