The faster, sportier and more powerful Audi A1 has a compact, lightweight engine with four valves per cylinder, delivering 185 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h takes just 6.9 seconds, and the top speed is 227 km/h. This A1 achieves its spontaneous response and high propulsive power, even at high speeds, thanks to its special concept – a combination of supercharger and turbocharger.

Managing Director of Audi Singapore, Reinhold Carl: “Since its launch in March, the Audi A1 has been selling better than we have ever anticipated. This amazing car gets another boost with the arrival of the new supercharged and turbocharged version that does all these and more – it packs even more power, delivering more fun and driving pleasure.”

Just as significant as the startling performance capabilities of the A1 1.4 TFSI (185 bhp) is the extensive standard equipment list. Audi has pulled out all the stops to make the new Audi A1 the best-equipped car in the segment, making an even stronger statement on the A1’s positioning as a genuine premium car with all the feel-good features found in the larger Audi models.

The supercharger springs into action at 1,500 rpm and in most situations is disengaged at 2,400 rpm. From 3,500 rpm, the turbocharger does all the work. Because it doesn’t have to do as much work at the lower end of the rev range, Audi engineers were able to design the turbocharger for high efficiency.

The A1 1.4 TFSI (185 bhp) with S line kit also impresses with groundbreaking efficiency. It consumes on average just 5.9 litres of fuel per 100 km, corresponding to CO2 emissions of just 139 g/km. These impressive numbers result from the FSI concept, the dual-charging system and also technologies from the modular efficiency platform.

The standard seven-speed S tronic transmission directs the power of the 1.4 TFSI to the front wheels. The high-end transmission is very short and light. The seven-speed S tronic is composed of two transmission structures, which are operated by two multi- plate clutches. The shifting process takes place in just a few hundredths of a second and with no detectable interruption of pulling power. The tall seventh gear reduces fuel consumption.

The Audi A1 1.4 TFSI (185 bhp) turns in spontaneously, takes corners quickly and stably, and accelerates out of them with sure-footed grip. The brakes have the potent performance under control. The ventilated front discs measure 288 millimetres in diameter.

Another feature that comes standard for the chassis is the ESP stabilisation program with electronic limited slip differential. When the system detects an impending loss of traction at the inside wheel during fast cornering, it initiates a very brief braking of that wheel.

Like the A1 with 122 bhp, the new Audi A1 with 185 bhp also comes with a comprehensive range of equipment. The safety package comprises two front airbags, thorax / pelvic side airbags and curtain head airbags. Belt tensioners and belt force limiters plus the Audi integral headrest system round out the package. Isofix child seat anchor points in the rear are standard. In addition to S tronic, the car comes with a wide range of standard features: Ambition equipment line, 18-inch wheels, S line exterior package, interior LED lighting package, xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights, and LED rear lights.

The Audi A1 with 185 bhp is now available in Singapore at S$154,011 (inclusive of COE). The Audi A1 with 122 bhp is available at S$130,861 (inclusive of COE).
