Local News: The XL-sized Mini Countryman is here

The MINI Countryman is the first MINI with a body measuring more than four meters in length and comes with a large tailgate and a versatile interior offering space for up to five people, and can be ordered with all-wheel drive. For the first time, the MINI logo at the rear of the car is also assigned a function where by pressing the inner circle of the brand emblem it releases the upward-opening tailgate. Further, the MINI Countryman will feature an innovative Centre Rail storage and fastening system.

With its raised seating position and optimized ride comfort, the world’s only premium vehicle of its kind crosses the boundaries of urban mobility to take the trademark MINI feeling into new dimensions and is geared towards winning over a larger and evolving target group that was previously untapped by the brand.

As the latest addition to the MINI model family, the MINI Countryman enhances the appeal of the unparalleled range of models currently offered by the brand in the premium small car segment.

The MINI Countryman will be available at MINI Habitat beginning 20 January 2011.

The Countryman Cooper lists at $159,800 while the Coope S version will set you back $189,800.
