Local News: Updated C-class is here

The new generation C-Class, is a comprehensive modernisation. The front and rear sections of this bestselling model have a more striking design. Together with the optional high-resolution colour display in the instrument cluster, the new dashboard with its elegant, grained surface and prominent decorative trim emphasises the premium character of the interior.

Fuel consumption has been lowered by up to 31 percent. Efficiency-enhancing measures include new engines, the improved 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission and the ECO start/stop function.

Ten new driving assistance systems ranging from ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection to DISTRONIC PLUS proximity control are now available for this model series. The new-generation telematics also include internet access.

The new C-Class also meets the best standards with regard to comfort and high-level appeal. The new design and material quality of the interior express Mercedes-Benz design team’s understanding of “aesthetic precision”.

“The C-Class since its local augural in 2007 has been hugely popular. In fact it is the best selling model after the E-Class for Mercedes-Benz in Singapore. And we aim to continue this success story with the new generation C-Class,” said Mr Wolfgang Huppenbauer, President and CEO of Daimler South East Asia.

Since the 190 was introduced 30 years ago, Mercedes-Benz have sold a total of 8.5 million units from the C-Class family worldwide. The current model series alone has found more than 1.25 million buyers since its launch in 2007 – much more than its predecessor over the same period.

As the biggest-selling model series in Mercedes-Benz’s passenger car portfolio, the C-Class was the global market leader in its segment last year and is poised to continue in the same direction.
