Mercedes will be recalling some 9,004 units of the 12,000 diesel-powered vehicles sold in the US last year due to a crankshaft issue. Mercedes says the problem lies in a crankshaft sensor that can fail, which causes the engine to lose power and potentially leave drivers stranded.

There is no word yet on whether the recall is applicable to Singapore but we will keep you updated if it does. (Anyhow, only taxi companies have purchased diesel powered E-classes so we are quite certain that the recall will not affect Mercedes Benz owners in Singapore.)
