Launched with more than 5,000 iconic and rare images - all accessible at the click of a mouse – the scope offered by motorgraphs.com will be growing day by day.

At the heart of Motorgraphs’ library is the extensive historic photographic archive of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust (BMIHT) - in addition to hundreds of evocative motor sporting images from two exceptional private photo archives, the Grand Prix Library and the Spitzley Collection. Between them, these priceless resources span over 100 years of the motor industry and motor sport including racing, rallying, advertising, posters, brochures, manufacturing and social history.

Many of the photographs were taken by such legendary action photographers as Geoffrey Goddard, George Monkhouse and Nigel Snowden.

Categories to choose from include the Motor Industry, Motoring and Motor Sport. Bore down into the website and there are striking top-quality images covering everything from personalities, nostalgia and fashion to industry, Grand Prix and Le Mans-type sports car racing and even wartime industrial scenes. Other subject categories include the MGB, The Austin Magazine Covers, Fangio, Stirling Moss, Sir Alec Issigonis, Ringo Star, Jim Clark, the Mini-Cooper and Lotus, Design and Landmarks, Advertising, Production and Buildings and much more.

Prints are available on standard quality paper, thicker Art paper, with satin or gloss finish, rolled or stretched canvas, all framed or unframed. Users click on the image of their choice, select the size from A4 to A0 and then decide what type of frame they prefer. Payment is made online, and the purchase is despatched within days.

Commenting on the launch, David Weguelin, of Motorgraphs said, “This is a labour of love for all concerned, and has involved sorting through some three million images, selecting and scanning the most iconic ones for the site. We will be adding more on a regular basis, and expanding the categories while also including photographs from other libraries.”

Prints for private use can be obtained directly from the site. Scans for commercial purposes such as publication, press, graphic, and exhibition use are also available upon request. To see the site click on www.motorgraphs.com and lose yourself in a browse through times gone by.
