Motorsport News: Nissan GT-R wins at Portugese GT round
Nissan claimed its second win of the season at the weekend in the FIA GT1 World Championship, as Peter Dumbreck and Michael Krumm took their Sumo Power GT Nissan GT-R to victory at Portugal’s Portimao circuit.

After Krumm started the race from second on the grid, the car became involved in a three-car fight between Nissan, Corvette and Maserati. The battle was eventually decided with just seven minutes to go when Dumbreck pulled off a bold move on the Corvette of Marc Hennerici and Alex Margaritas to take the lead.
The victory was the Nissan GT-R’s second of the season with Dumbreck and Krumm’s team-mates Warren Hughes and Jamie Campbell-Walter having won on Sumo Power’s home turf at Silverstone in May. As well as Sumo Power GT, the Swiss Racing Team competes in the championship with two further GT-Rs. Nissan is also the official car supplier to the series, supplying safety cars and support vehicles.
Dumbreck and Krumm’s win helps move Sumo Power GT into third in the team’s championship with three events still to go. The next round of the championship takes place at the Navarra circuit in Spain on 23-24 October with Interlagos (Brazil) and San Luis (Argentina) to follow.
