New Skyline is even more attractive
Forbidden fruit always tastes better than what’s available at the local fruit stall, and this seems to be case for Nissan’s Skyline range, especially as the latest model gets even sportier and more attractive.

Developed with key words such as “attraction, sophistication and high-performance driving”, the 12th generation Nissan Skyline is bound to be a ‘hot’ grey-import model. It is developed on the next generation FR-L platform, and an upgraded 3.5-litre VQ35HR V6 engine.
Shape-wise, the new Skyline sits 20mm lower and 20mm wider than the last model making its already seductive front-engine/rear-wheel-drive proportions even more aggressive. The long bonnet looks even longer with its sharply-raked A-pillar and a sleek fastback roof that ends with an integrated boot spoiler.
The driver sits 27mm lower as well, bucking the trend for higher hip-points and the making of concessions for the needs of the growing aging population.
The top-of-the-line 3.5-litre model generates 315bhp and 36.5kgm of torque, and redlines at 7500rpm (the 2.5-litre, 225bhp and 26.8kgm). Both engines are paired with a 5-speed auto box with adaptive shift control and the SP and P grades get classy magnesium column-mounted paddle shifts.
Also unique to the Skyline will be the active four-wheel steering system, which is optional on the SP and S models. The Skyline is the first car in the world to have active steering on all four wheels, which take into account driving speed and steering effort. To complete the Skyline’s sportier set-up, it has different front and rear tyre sizes – 225/50R in front, and wider 245/45R at the back.
I’m sure if brought in by the local Nissan importer, the new Skyline will be a do very well.
