Nissan pulls out of Detroit motor show

Nissan will be absent from the North American Auto Show that starts on January 11.

This decision not to participate was made by Nissan Motor Co. back in November 2008. Nissan cited the ongoing crisis in the automotive industry as the key reason for pulling out of the show.

Several U.S. dealers however, were still keen on participating, and eagerly volunteered their vehicles and employees to man the booth.

But when Nissan wrote to the dealers asking them to respect the company's decision, the dealers had no choice but to acquiesce.
