PML brings in the new 6-series

Also revised is the iDrive system that comes complete with eight programmable favourite buttons allowing direct access to selected functions. The BMW Professional Navigation System features refined graphic presentation on an 8.8-inch Control Display. The new voice entry feature exclusive to BMW cars is also available as an option.

A newly developed, optional BMW Individual High-End Audio System is available, sporting a high quality, high fidelity Dirac Live signal processing. The digital nine-channel amplifier with DSP Digital Signal Processing develops maximum output of 825 watts, and comes with a six disc CD changer is located in the glove compartment.

The 4.8-litre V8 of the 650i develops a maximum output of 367 hp at 6,300 rpm and a maximum torque of 490 Newton-metres at 3,400 rpm, while acceleration figures are claimed to be 5.2 seconds for the century dash, with the drop-top completing the same exercise in 5.6 seconds.

The BMW 630i’s power unit has been further tuned to yield an increase of 14 horses, up to 272hp.

A new six-speed automatic with flappy-paddle shifts on the steering wheel is now available.

Adaptive Headlights are now standard for the 650i in Singapore, where a sophisticated BMW Night Vision camera is available as an option. The “heart” of this unique system is a thermal imaging camera able to detect people, animals and objects emitting heat at a distance of up to 300 metres or almost 1,000 feet also next to the road, then transmitting a high-contrast image to the central Control Display also used by the navigation system.
