Porsche 963 to race in Mobil 1 livery at the 12 Hours of Sebring
Inspiration provided by Porsche 911 GT1 from 1996.

Porsche Penske Motorsport will contest the 12 Hours of Sebring on 21 March with a special red, blue and white livery, celebrating a 30-year partnership between Porsche and ExxonMobil focused on innovation in both motorsport and road cars.

The collaboration began in 1996 at Le Mans, where Porsche 911 GT1 race cars in Mobil 1 colours finished strongly, marking the start of a global agreement that included factory-fill lubricants for all new Porsche models.

Over the decades, the partnership has underpinned major successes - from a Le Mans win with the 911 GT1, to championship-winning campaigns with the RS Spyder and the 919 Hybrid, which claimed multiple world titles and three overall Le Mans victories between 2014 and 2017. More recently, it has driven advances in electric performance, including the GT4 e-Performance and Porsche’s Formula E programme.

Sebring is widely regarded as one of endurance racing’s toughest events, with its bumpy, partially concrete surface adding to the challenge. Held for the 74th time, Porsche remains the most successful manufacturer in the race’s history with 19 overall wins.

This year, Porsche Penske Motorsport will field two 963 prototypes in the top GTP class. The #7 car arrives as the championship leader, while the #6 entry sits fourth overall. Customer teams Manthey and AO Racing will also run 911 GT3 R cars in the GT categories.
