To date, over 5,000 motorists in Singapore have taken up the challenge to learn more about saving fuel in the Shell Target One Million campaign. Last Saturday, approximately 200 participants gathered at Shell House to play the Shell Target One Million online mini-game. This game is designed to equip drivers with the skills they need to save fuel and, in doing so, cut down on their fuel costs.

These participants also had the opportunity to hear from Shell scientist, Loke Ean Bee, Singapore Shell FuelSave ambassador, Eunice Olsen, as well as fuel economy driving experts, John and Helen Taylor, who hold the Guinness World Record for driving around the world on just 24 tanks of Shell fuels.
Dawn Phang, General Manager of Retail Sales and Operations, Shell Singapore, said: “It was great to see so many motorists gathering to learn how a few simple changes to their driving habits can help them save fuel and reduce costs. Globally, we are aspiring to reach out to 1 million drivers. We are certain that the attendees will share the game with their friends and families, and show them how they can become one in a million.”

Edmund Tay, the winner for Shell FuelSave Challenge 2011, also brought his family to the event. He said: “Target One Million is a great platform for every driver to learn how to save fuel. It’s not only about the type of fuel you use, but also how you drive. The game really teaches you good driving habits that you can adopt to get the most efficiency out of your fuel.”

Fun and easy to complete, the first of the series – Shell FuelSave Challenge – is available now at www.shell.com.sg/targetonemillion and is open to anyone who wants to participate in the campaign. Five other games will be available over the coming months, each of which can be shared with friends and families across social media platforms, which include Facebook and Twitter.

Target One Million is a Shell FuelSave campaign to help one million drivers from across the world learn how to save fuel. It represents the latest step in Shell’s ongoing efforts to provide smarter, more efficient products like Shell FuelSave and to promote smarter energy use amongst the world’s drivers.
