SG: Car crashes into top cyclist

27-year old Dinah Chan is Singapore's top female cyclist, and was involved in a collision on Monday after she crashed into a right turning Mazda 3. The impact happened along East Coast Park Service Road, at roughly 11:00am while she was cycling alone. The forces from the crash flung her almost three metres away, although itshe did not sustain any life-threatening injuries as she landed on grass. Her helmet absorbed the bulk of the impact and kept her head safe. She suffered abrasions, a swollen neck and lips, and damaged teeth. The driver of the Mazda 3, 38-year old Sales Executive Mona Yong, immediately provided assistance. She called for an ambulance and dried her wounds with tissue paper.   Pictures for illustration only.
