SG: Courses to promote safe driving aimed to reduce accident rates

There have been loads of accidents involving private buses in recent years, and some of them can be attributed to the lack of training to deal with emergency situations as compared to their public bus-driving counterparts. The Singapore School Transport Association (SSTA) has rolled out a campaign in a bid to reverse this worrying trend. Private bus drivers will receive incentives when they enrol in safety courses, and insurers are willing to give a $50 rebate for policy renewal after the driver has completed the course. All this will be done to curb and hopefully reduce the number of accidents involving a private bus, and to drive down the insurance premiums. Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
