SG: Driver charged after killing girlfriend

Liu Zhongwei, a 31-year old Logistics driver from China was charged yesterday after killing his girlfriend two weeks ago. Liu drove his car into his girlfriend standing in front of his car. The accident took place at a carpark in Jurong on the 14th earlier this month, and took the life of 32-year old Kindergarten Teacher Li Minna away. Liu, instead of providing assistance, fled the scene after the collision. The couple were classmates and neighbours from their hometown Changchun, China. They started dating when they met in Singapore a year ago. If found guilty, Liu may be sentenced to a jail term of up to five years, or fine, or both.
