SG: Driver that caused death of 4 in CTE crash identified

A crash that happened at around 4am on National Day took away the lives of a Singaporean and his Korean girlfriend and family whilst they were on their way to the airport. The car had a flat tyre, and the occupants got out of the vehicle in an attempt to fix it. They were ploughed into by a Honda Stream driver by Du Zhen Yang, a 34 year old ethnic Chinese man. The only one to survive the crash out of the 5 onboard the Toyota Wish was the Korean girl’s brother, who stood beside the car rather than behind it. The 34 year old subsequently complained of neck pains when paramedics arrived on scene. He was brought to the hospital, where he was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. His license has since been suspended, and he is currently out on bail.
