SG: Fall in COE prices fail to trigger increase in sales

Despite an almost $10,000 drop in the price of a COE, and loads of promotions and discounts over the weekend on various cars, not any more cars were sold than normal. There were more people in the showroom, but that did not translate to cars being sold. This was despite the fact that the increase in the COE supply caused the price of one to fall $6,000 to $10,000. The reason? Well, the prices may have fallen 6 to 10 grand, but the premiums remain as one of the highest in the 24-years of the COE system; one will set you back almost $75,010. With the price of the COE set to further fall, buyers are all waiting and seeing, hoping to score a better deal.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
