SG: Greater accessibility as SMRT adds WAB to services
As our local fleets of aging buses are slowly replaced with newer wheelchair accessible ones, it makes sense to spread the fleet of new buses out and bring greater convenience to the wheelchair bound. SMRT thinks the same way as us, and have deployed 37 new WAB buses across services 803, 927, 961 and 972 from 2nd March onwards. The 4 services means that SMRT will now have 42 WAB services, more than half the routes the company runs. Although most SMRT WAB have a single wheelchair bay, the space is large enough for 2 wheelchairs at any one time. Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
