SG: Local networks cost efficient
A study done by the chaps at London consulting firm Credo has revealed that Singapore has one of the world’s most cost-efficient public transport networks. The study has been done in hope of reducing the cost of public transport worldwide. The firm factored in the cost of journey time, fares, crowding levels, and ease of using the network in the study, and also found out that a more efficient transport network affects productivity on a smaller amount. It was found that a Singapore’s economic cost of transport is 8.9% of the GDP per capita. To put it simply, this means that a Singaporean commuter spends 8.9% of his/her time being unproductive due to transport.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
