SG: Lorry driver jailed after causing fatal accident.

25 year old Jayaprakash was sentenced to eight weeks in jail and a five year driving ban after he caused a head on collision with another truck on the 3rd of July last year. The collision caused one to lose his life and injuring 14 others. The accident occured along Tanah Merah Coast Road in Changi and claimed the life of the Jayaprakash cost the life of his 19-year old passenger. Jayaprakash has five years working experience in Singapore, and was on his way to pick up his colleagues at a construction site when  the accident occured. He was trying to overtake another vehicle, which saw him suddenly swerving right. This caused his lorry to crash into an oncoming lorry.

For his offence, Jayaprakash could have been sentenced to 2 years imprisionment or fined on every offence, or both.
