SG: LTA to activate CCTVs to curb illegal parking

Illegal parking is an issue that gripes most countries. Every nation deals with the problem differently, some taking more drastic measures to deter potential offenders. In the little red dot we call home, the LTA has decided that CCTVs will be a good way to deter the offenders. They will activate CCTV cameras at 10 locations, before proceeding to install 20 more in other locations, all of which should be functional by end 2014. The 30 locations have been selected for they have a high incidence of illegal parking which impedes the smooth movement of public buses. The CCTVs will be operational 24 hours daily, and prominent signs will be put up in the monitoring zones to remind motorists against parking illegally.   Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
