SG: MCE open after ½ a decade of construction
The 29th of December marks the official opening of the Marina Coastal Expressway(MCE). The roads were open to traffic on 9am that Sunday, and it connects the KPE, ECP and AYE. The expressway was officially opened by Senior Minister of State for Transport Josephine Teo on Saturday, accompanied by Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong. The 5km, 10-lane expressway is nearly half a kilometer under the sea. The expressway was designed to make travel smoother and faster, as drivers can now use the MCE to reach their destination within the CBD via AYE, ECP or KPE.
