The new X6 appears to be an evolution of its predecessor, sporting an aggressive stance from the front, and the same coupe-like sloping roofline from the rear, a design that doesn’t deviate from the proven formula. However, have a closer look and you’ll see that it is indeed a new car inside and out.

The new X6 features a more aggressive front fascia and bears the current BMW family grille and headlight design. Elsewhere, the sharp angles from the previous car are ditched in favour of more flowing lines, and there is now a chrome air duct behind the front wheels.

Inside, the new X6 benefits from having the new X5’s infotainment and assistance systems as well as more spacious rear accommodation.

Available with two choices of petrol engines, the 35i and 50i, and one diesel engines, the 30d, the new X6 is up to 22% more efficient than before.

Initially the 4.4-litre V8 xDrive50i will be available, which produces 450bhp and 650Nm, and completes the century sprint in just 4.8 seconds. Other engines soon to be available are the 3-litre 35i and the 3-litre diesel 30d.
