SG: Pedestrian killed in crash

A driver lost control of his Kia and crashed into a traffic light at the junction of Tampines Street 11 and Tampines Avenue 2. The incident, which happened on Monday afternoon, resulted in the death of a 57-year old pedestrian, damages to the traffic light, a car and a taxi. The pedestrian was a Singaporean Chinese man, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by paramedics. The out of control car hit 2 other vehicles before it finally came to a standstill. The driver was brought to hospital, where he was arrested. The crash caused part of Tampines Street 11 to be closed off to traffic for more than 60 minutes.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
