SG: Roads in West Coast to be widened

The stretch of road between South Buona Vista Road and West Coast Link will be widened to facilitate traffic flow. The 3.9km long stretch is home to increasing developments in the area. It is hoped that the increase in width can aid the increased traffic flow and serve as an effective route to connect the Science Park and West Coast areas. LTA will call a tender for the widening project in the coming weeks. It is expected that the works would start in the 4th quarter of 2013, and be fully complete by the 1st quarter of 2017. Barriers will be erected to reduce the noise and inconvenience brought to those living or working in that stretch. The plans largely affects fencing, drains and grass verges that often have been earmarked for future road use.
