SG: Shell Fuel Save Challenge Returns with an Exciting Twist

Once again Shell is embarking on a search to find Singapore's most inspiring drivers and fuel saving ambassadors.  The Fuel Save Challenge is returning this year with an exciting twist which spotlights on families and their everyday journeys.  Louis Tan, General Manager, Retail Sales & Operations, Shell Singapore, said: “Shell is passionate about helping motorists get the most out of their fuel. As families form the majority of everyday drivers on the road, we are taking this opportunity to show them how they can save even more through fuel-efficient driving. The Shell FuelSave Challenge will not only give them a hands-on experience but we hope it will drive home the message that they can bring significant difference to their fuel consumption, and in turn, costs, just by making small changes in their driving behavior and when paired with the right fuel.”

Shell will be seeking 30 pairs of couples to take part in the Shell FuelSave Challenge. The entry criteria will require couples to register as a husband and wife team and submit their stories of what fuel-saving means to them from a household perspective. Shortlisted teams will be invited to participate in the competition over the weekend on 17 and 18 August, where they will have to drive and compete as a pair against other couples.

Participants’ knowledge on fuel-saving will then be tested over a pre-identified driving route that we believe mirrors regular family car journeys. The two couples with the highest fuel efficiency scores will win $2000 worth of Shell fuel vouchers each and be crowned Shell Singapore’s Most Fuel-Efficient Couple. All other participants in the Challenge will also receive $200 worth of Shell fuel vouchers as a token of participation.

Drivers can register their interest with their spouse at www.shell.com.sg/fuelsavechallenge2013 from 17 July 2013 to 4 August 2013.
