SG: Works begin on 2 MRT stations

The LTA has officially began construction of 2 MRT stations, the Stevens and Mount Pleasant MRT stations, on Sunday. Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew was at the groundbreaking ceremony, and also unveiled an underpass that will improve connectivity with the Singapore Chinese Girls' School with the Stevens MRT station, whilst serving as the linkway for the interchange with the Downtown Line. The underpass will spawn roughly 60 metres, and will be 11 metres deep at its deepest point. It will run under Bukit Timah and Dunearn roads, and the two entrances start just outside the school. All works are scheduled for completion in 2019. As for the 2 MRT Stations, expect them to be operational by 2021. Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
