First deliveries are starting in August and if you order one today you’ll likely get your car by end September. Members of the public can view the car at ION Orchard, L1 Atrium, 2 Orchard Turn, Singapore between 13th July – 24th July and anytime between 10am – 10pm.

It’s commonly known that the Model Y is essentially a Model 3 but elongated vertically to become an ‘SUV’. So naturally, there’s a higher seating position and more headroom. However, we spoke to Tesla to find out the lesser known facts that are beyond skin deep. Here we go…

The Model Y’s larger chassis allows it to come standard with the HEPA air filtration system, unlike the Model 3.

The Model Y’s all-glass roof is truly seamless from front to rear, unlike the Model 3’s which is split in the middle.

If you wanted the surround sound system in the Model 3, you’d have to go for the Performance model.

For the Model Y it is standard for both variants.

If you ordered any colour other than Pearl White Multi-Coat, there is an extra charge of S$ 1,500. Red Multi-Coat is the most expensive at S$ 3,000.

The Model Y comes with the new AMD Ryzen chip, which dulls acceleration a little but will offer faster processing speed for onboard technologies as well as greater range.

The Model Y Performance’s Battery & Drive Unit mileage warranty is slightly longer than the RWD variant at 8 years or 192,000 km (32,000 km more).

The basic vehicle warranty is the same at 4 years or 80,000 km.
