Subaru Forester e-BOXER Hybrid Can Deliver More Than 1,000 km Per Tank

Motor Image Enterprises Pte Ltd has launched the all-new Subaru Forester e-BOXER hybrid in Singapore. Featuring Subaru’s new hybrid system, it combines eco-conscious performance with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, advanced safety and premium comfort, making it a versatile SUV built for adventure.

The Forester e-BOXER hybrid features a self-charging system that optimises power from the engine, motor, or both without external charging. It runs in EV mode at low to mid speeds for silent, zero-emission driving, while the engine takes over on highways. The electric motor provides instant torque for smooth, responsive performance, working with a 2.5-litre BOXER engine and integrated transmission motor. Combined with a 63-litre fuel tank, the setup offers a driving range of over 1,000 km. That's a decent figure for one that weighs 1,760kg!

A new Lineartronic transmission unites the drive motor, generator, front differential and electronic coupling in a compact design that improves efficiency, acceleration and cabin quietness while maintaining Subaru’s weight balance. An Electric Compressor keeps the air-conditioning running even with the engine off.

You’ll be assured of improved chassis rigidity for smoother handling and ride comfort, too. Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is retained, with real-time power distribution. With 220mm of ground clearance, dual-function X-MODE and Hill Descent Control, it promises to deliver strong off-road capability. Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE) further customises performance, balancing efficiency and sportier acceleration.

Ergonomically, the seats are designed with direct-chassis mounting, 10-way power adjustment, lumbar support and premium leather for enhanced comfort on long drives. Its 11.6-inch Full HD infotainment display, Harman/Kardon 10-speaker system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Qi charging and multiple USB ports enhances connectivity.

The Forester e-BOXER combines robust passive safety, featuring a reinforced Ring-shaped frame, strengthened rear chassis to protect the high-voltage battery and eight SRS airbags including a new passenger seat cushion airbag, with Enhanced EyeSight 4.0. This system uses a wide-angle camera and nine advanced driver-assist functions to enhance collision avoidance and pedestrian and cyclist detection.

The indicative pricing for the Forester 2.5 i-S EyeSight begins at S$219,800 - expect it to increase as this figure was issued before the second COE bidding cycle of September (sky-high premiums await!)
