A survey and report conducted by the global law firm DLA Piper indicate that 40% of senior executives in the industry believe that Asia Pacific (excluding Australia) is "leading the way" in terms of investment in and adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs) compared to other nations. The remaining 60% state that the region is "making good progress" in this aspect.

A significant majority, 92% of respondents, expect a rise in investor interest in global EV charging infrastructure over the next 12 months. Additionally, one-third of respondents anticipate substantial growth in this sector.

How so? The surge is propelled by various factors, such as government incentives and policies supporting EVs and charging infrastructure, the favorable impact of technological advancements, positive influence of environmental concerns and sustainability goals on market demand, and the growing interest and demand from consumers.

This survey also revealed that 23% of respondents expect APAC to receive the largest share of EV and related infrastructure investment.

And 65% of respondents believe EVs will eclipse ICE vehicles on roads within 5-10 years in Asia Pacific (excluding Australia).

What about the powerhouse? China’s high growth EV market is expected to continue as the market shifts from policy and subsidy driven, to market and product driven.
