Not many people have heard of Touring Superleggera. It sits in that rarified coachbuilding segment that has been mostly all but relegated to history books. However, Touring Superleggera soldiers on building some of the most unique and desirable cars ever to exist. In this author’s mind, true luxury is being able to drive something that is so rare that it is inaccessible, even, and customised in every possible aspect to the owner’s wishes.

Its latest creation, the Touring Arese RH95, made its debut last week in Singapore, being one of the 18 that will ever be created. Carrying design themes from the AERO 3 of 2020, the Arese RH95 shares the AERO’s carbon fibre body and has striking scissor doors which is a major departure from its donor car’s original design (which also makes ingress and egress a cinch). The cinematic large swathes of customised exterior panels also lends the car a far more organic shape than machine-engineered designs. Craftsmen spend an average of 5,000 hours to hand build each car.

Although Touring Superleggera will only go so far as to say that the donor car is a ‘well-known exotic’, we know that it is built on a Ferrari 488 GTB or F8 Tributo. Included in the price is the sourcing of a donor car for the privileged customer, but one could also be provided if there’s a Ferrari or two parked quietly in a garage somewhere. It will take around 6 months to convert the donor car and it will be covered by an unlimited mileage warranty. Parts produced or modified by Touring will be guaranteed available for life.

Asking roughly S$2.2 million before taxes and COE, the Arese RH95 should not be subject to any price benchmark for this is the ballpark before an owner even begins to customise his/her car. Eurosports Auto is the exclusive distributor for Touring Superleggera in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and is the non-exclusive distributor in China since 2012. Touring Superleggera celebrates its 95th anniversary this year.
