Inchcape Singapore has announced the launch of the new Toyota Sienta Hybrid in Singapore, marking the first-time the car is available through an official dealer. Manufactured in Japan, the Sienta is the only Cat A Hybrid 7-seater multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) sold in Singapore.

Inspired by a simple “Shikakumaru” circle and square design, the entire vehicle is designed with rounded corners to create a compact appearance. Immediate impressions hark back to the funky, yet functional Fiat Doblo, which is no bad thing at all.

As with most new Toyota passenger cars, it is based on the brand’s Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. More specifically, it shares the same TNGA-B platform as the Yaris Cross Hybrid.

The Sienta Hybrid’s height has been increased by 20mm, which amplifies its functionality further as rear passengers will still get access to dual power sliding doors. For entertainment, a 9-inch touchscreen display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes as standard - an advantage over the non-hybrid Honda Freed sold by Honda’s authorised dealer Kah Motor, which requires Android Auto to be wired up.

Apart from six airbags compared to the predecessor’s two, the Sienta Hybrid will also be equipped with active safety features as part of the Toyota Safety Sense package - Pre-collision Safety System, Emergency Steering Assist, Acceleration Suppression at Low Speed, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Trace Assist, Road Sign Assist and Parking Support Brake.

The new Toyota Sienta Hybrid comes in 2 variants - Elegance, and Elegance Dual Tone. Elegance is priced at S$150,588 with COE. Top up S$1,600 for the Dual Tone to choose either a scarlet or blue paint matched with a dark gray roof. Viewings and test drives at the Leng Kee and Ubi Toyota Showrooms are now available. The car will also be on show at VivoCity from 10 - 16 October 2022.
