Trans Eurokars unveils the Saab Turbo X

Saab's Turbo X, a driver-focused performance car that set new standards for the brand has finally reached the shores of Singapore. Making its debut at Saab's City Showroom last evening, the black limited edition Turbo X takes Saab "back to the future" by evoking the iconic appeal of its first black 900 Turbo and introducing innovative Saab's XWD all-wheel drive technology.

The powerhouse at the heart of the Turbo X is a 2.8-litre V6 turbo engine, generating a powerful 280bhp at 5,300rpm and 400Nm of torque at 2,150 rpm. The Turbo-X bursts from 0 to 100km/h in 5.7 seconds for the manual, and 7.2 seconds in the auto - both transmission coming in 6 speeds.

The advanced specification includes a lightweight all-aluminium construction with a 60-degree angle between the cylinder banks for perfect balance, variable inlet valve timing and twin-scroll turbocharging.

Saab's XWD active all-wheel-drive system also made its way into the Turbo X. Designed to optimize vehicle handling and stability, its sophisticated electronic control allows fine balancing of drive torque - not only between the two axles but also between the rear wheels. This effect stretches the performance envelope of the chassis, raising the threshold at which ESP throttle and braking interventions are triggered.

Already hailed as a future classic, the Saab Turbo-X edition for Singapore is only available in 4-door Sport Sedan variant in automatic transmission.

This limited edition Saab, only 2,000 units available worldwide, retails here for $208,888 (COE included). Unfortunately, only four units were allocated for our market - three were spoken for prior to the launch, while the last unit was sold within the hour it was launched.
