UK: Jeremy Clarkson to leave Top Gear

It has been confirmed – the BBC will not renew Jeremy Clarkson’s Top Gear contract when it runs out at the end of the month. Many rumours have been floating around on the Internet recently, with several sources claiming that rival networks have offered the Top Gear trio contracts. It is worth noting though that these are just rumours at the moment – there has been no official confirmation from all the parties involved. Regardless of whatever happens to the current trio, BBC has intentions to keep the show going with new hosts. It remains to be seen if Richard Hammond and James May will carry on hosting the programme without Clarkson. The whole incident started when Clarkson allegedly punch producer Oisin Tymon on the 10th of March. He was suspended when the BBC found out about his actions, and a new contract was not offered to him following the findings from rounds of investigations.
